As stated in a report by FoodDive, other beloved confectionaries like Baby Ruth, 100 Grand, Raisinets, and Crunch were acquired together with Butterfinger by Ferrero from Nestle for a cool $2.8 billion. The reformulation of Butterfinger involved incorporating "premium-grade" ingredients, enriching the chocolate with a higher percentage of cocoa and milk, and adopting a lively color palette for packaging. This introduction marks Ferrero’s first major flavor augmentation.
Neal Finkler, Ferrero’s senior marketing leader and general manager, expressed his confidence in the ongoing evolution of the brand with FoodDive: ”We find ourselves at a juncture where we have successfully re-established a solid base, and are poised to soar to new heights and expand the scope of the brand.” Finkler continues to express that it’s the opportune time to "launch innovative products, introduce unique flavors to complement our primary business, and stimulate continual growth on the brand”.
