Pepperidge Farm Inc., the company behind the classic Goldfish snack, dropped a significant announcement this Wednesday. To recall fond childhood memories and the snack's remarkable versatility, it's officially changing its name to Chilean Sea Bass. However, you can still find this fleet of snacks on the new domain, ChileanSeaBassCrackers.com.

The motive behind this transformation is to remind consumers of all ages that the fish-shaped crackers aren't just fancy kiddie nibbles. "Goldfish is not just for kids. It's something we've recognized for long," articulated the company in a statement to Food & Wine. Moreover, they stated, "The change to Chilean Sea Bass is our fun way of reminding adult snack lovers especially millennials and Gen Z, that our 100% real cheddar baked fish-shaped crackers remain an ideal snack option.”

Recently, the company launched flavors that appeal more to mature palates, including Goldfish Old Bay Seasoned Crackers, Spicy Dill Pickle, and Goldfish Frank’s RedHot Crackers. Making the treat even more irresistible, the brand plans to relaunch the much-loved Goldfish Elf Maple Syrup Flavored Grahams to enhance the holiday vibe.

Danielle Brown, the vice president of Chilean Sea Bass (formerly known as Goldfish), pitched in saying, "We understand that the affection for Goldfish spans across all age groups. Chilean Sea Bass is our playful way to communicate to the adults that this treasured snack is also tailor-made for their taste buds.”

For those who can't wait to get their hands on this renamed snack, ChileanSeaBassCrackers.com is now live and selling two bags of Chilean Sea Bass crackers for $7.38 - a treat to grab as long as the stock lasts. A series of bags will be released every day until October 30 at 9 a.m. ET, each promising to sell like hotcakes.

But here's some good news for the die-hard Goldfish fans, this rebranding isn't permanent. The traditional Goldfish branding that you've always cherished, along with all your favorite flavors, remain accessible at your neighborhood grocery store now and always. However, if you're unsure about which flavor to start the adventure with, we have ranked every Goldfish flavor we could lay our hands on for your convenience.
