Autumn gets sweeter as fast-food giant Wendy's has announced plans to release a new Salted Caramel Frosty flavor this fall. The company revealed this delicious twist on November 12, with plans for nationwide availability.

The press release provided by Wendy's painted an inviting picture of the new offering, stating it to be "a spoonful of warm and cozy comfort in every chilly bite." The flavor is a delightful blend of Wendy's classic Frosty with "rich, salty caramel."

But sweet-toothened fans of the Vanilla Frosty may need to brace themselves. Reports from People magazine suggest that the launch of this new flavor would temporarily replace the popular Vanilla Frosty. The limited-edition Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty, an item inspired by Spongebob Squarepants, is also reportedly being phased out to make way for the Salted Caramel introduction.

That said, the incoming flavor swap did little to dampen the excitement of Wendy's loyal patrons. Social media buzz indicated considerable enthusiasm about the new option, with many looking forward to the new rendition of the Frosty dessert. Many accepted the flavor change with the only request that the much-loved peppermint variant follows suit.

The new Frosty flavor is not the only change Wendy's is bringing this season. The fast-food chain also introduced two other limited-edition items on the menu – a mushroom bacon cheeseburger and a revamped taco salad.

An enticing blend of bacon, garlic spread, and Muenster cheese, elegantly topped with a generous serving of roasted mushrooms is what the Mushroom Burger promises. The Taco Salad, which had previously seen a short run, has been reintroduced with an upgrade. The new version is loaded with chili, fire-roasted corn, sour cream, salsa, and tortilla strips, finished off with a delectable creamy salsa dressing.

While fans eagerly await the possibility of a peppermint Frosty next, Wendy's has shown a knack for keeping the anticipation high with their seasonal flavor rotations. Having released a range of limited-edition flavors like Orange Dreamsicle Frosty, Triple Berry Frosty, and Pineapple Frosty in recent months, it seems safe to bet that this winter, Wendy's will surprise patrons yet again with another festive-themed Frosty beverage. For that surprise, we'll have to be patient and wait till next month.
