Shoppers at Costco, do you ever wonder if you're filling your cart with the best the store has to offer? Thanks to data and reviews accumulated by the renowned coupon collection website, CouponBirds, we have now unlocked the top 50 most-favored treats at this retail giant.

The collated list shines a light on shopper preferences, revealing a wide range of products from sweet confections like chocolates and cookies, to more wholesome alternatives like nutrition bars and nuts. Interestingly, traditional favorite snacks like chips have not earned a place on this roster, whereas unexpected choices like Saltines, Honey Maid Graham Crackers, and raisins have found their way onto the top 50.

Speaking of store trends, there's a noticeable favoritism towards Costco's in-house brand, Kirkland Signature, in the compiled list. “The assortment of snacks reflected a fascinating blend of recognizable brands and Costco’s private labels,” Andy Cooper, a financial analyst, and money-saving expert at CouponBirds suggests. "Moreover, Kirkland Signature products constitute a major part of the top 50, showcasing Costco’s commitment to presenting superior quality products at competitive prices.”

In another unexpected twist, global brands seemed to outshine local American names among Costco shoppers. “The most loved cookies at Costco belong to Belgium's Lotus Biscoff-surpassing even America's widely loved Oreos," Cooper revealed.

This top 50 list comes after an analysis of 145,533 customer ratings across all snacks available on the Costco website as of June 2024, with a cut-off for products with fewer than 100 reviews.

Costco's top-rated snack was the Utah Truffles Dark Chocolate Truffles with Sea Salt, receiving an impressive 91.99% of five-star reviews. Other chocolate treats, Godiva Dark Chocolate Ganache Hearts, and Nutella & Go’s Hazelnut & Cocoa Spread with Breadsticks, also received high ratings, ranking second and third respectively.

The favorite cookie among Costco shoppers is the Lotus Biscoff Cookies, which earned an 88.04% five-star rating, beating traditional choices like Oreos, Fig Newtons, etc.

Costco's most popular chips only managed to score an impressive 86.62%, with Oreo Sandwich cookies landing the 50th spot on the list.

When it comes to healthier options, Kirkland Signature Pecan Halves, Kirkland Signature Walnut Halves, Kirkland Signature's various Pistachio options, and other Kirkland Signature nuts all featured within the top 50, suggesting a preference for these high-protein snacks.

Similarly popular are traditional snack bars, with G2G Peanut Butter Coconut Chocolate Protein Bars heading this category at number five overall, boasting a 90.57% approval rating of five-star reviews.

In conclusion, research reveals that American snacking trends might be veering towards the sweet spectrum, with an inclination towards more nutritionally balanced choices like nuts and protein bars when it comes to savory treats. The buoyancy of prosecco, fish sticks, and Reese’s dipped animal crackers within the Costco landscape suggests a nuanced taste palette among its shoppers.
