Coffee lovers looking to get the best of both coffee and breakfast are in for a treat at Starbucks, which has recently introduced an all-new combo meal starting at a price just $5.

This Tuesday, the globally acclaimed coffee chain announced its latest initiative to rejuvenate its customer footfall. Introducing the limited-time 'Pairings Menu', Starbucks blends hot or iced coffee or tea with a croissant for only $5. For customers seeking a more substantial breakfast, a hot or iced coffee or tea with a breakfast sandwich is offered starting at $6. However, customers should note that the Double Smoked Bacon or Impossible breakfast sandwich raises this offering's cost to $7, and no other offers or discounts can be clubbed with the 'Pairing Menu'.

Part of a broader trend amongst fast-food joints to entice customers with pocket-friendly options, this follows on from the likes of McDonald's and Burger King, both of whom launched their own variations of $5 value meals earlier this year.

Starbucks' move comes off the back of what Starbucks' CFO, Rachel Ruggeri, pointed out as a significant slump in the second quarter. She stated at the Deutsch Bank global consumer conference that the fiscal downfall might have connections to the coffee chain's value offerings not being made sufficiently visible to its customer base.

"We're seeing obstacles particularly related to our occasional customers, primarily in terms of their awareness of what we offer and their perception of value," she stated, as reported by NRN. She further added, "In order to reconnect with those relationships, it will require some time. However, I am quite positive that as we continue emphasizing relationships, especially with our partners and customers, it will help enhance our distinctiveness in the long run."

The launch of the 'Pairings Menu' isn't the only move Starbucks has made recently, in its bid to lure customers back. Earlier this year, Starbucks also introduced three new 'Refreshers'. Each new beverage is inspired by the trending sweet and spicy aka "swicy" flavor, which include Spicy Dragonfruit, Spicy Pineapple, and Spicy Strawberry. In May, the company even flagged off its seasonal summer offerings that featured a boba-inspired Summer Berry Refreshers drink, a White Chocolate Macadamia Cream Cold Brew, and a Pineapple Cloud Cake, all of them promising a refreshing summer treat. Now, if Starbucks adds these to their 'Pairing Menu,' it will just be perfect.
