McValue: McDonald's New Tool Set to Revolutionize Fast Food Breeds Value
- Dec 2, 2024
To keep pace with the affordability mindset of its customers, McDonald's has announced the new digital "McValue" platform. The online tool, set to debut on January 7, 2025, will amalgamate all available promotional offers at the convenience of users. This strategic decision is aimed at supporting customers who are burdened by escalating food prices, granting them easy access to deals across the fast-food chain.
Unlike the existing McDonald's app, which lists nationwide discounts but sometimes overlooks promotions run by individual franchisees, the McValue platform will serve as a comprehensive source of savings. It aims to bundle every conceivable saving option for users, including national and local discounts, and exclusive offers only accessible via McValue.
McDonald's USA president Joe Erlinger emphasized the goal of the platform in the brand's official release, stating, "When it comes to value, we know there’s no one-size-fits-all. We worked closely with our franchisees to create a new platform that will let our customers define value on their own terms.”
Collaborating with franchisees to identify how to successfully implement new initiatives or discounts isn't always standard practice within the industry. Yet, for McDonald's, this approach has proven fruitful. Such is underscored by the creation of the popular $5 Meal Deal, conceived by one of its local markets. The overwhelmingly positive response to this deal has led McDonald's to extend the offer into the new year.
Another unique aspect of McValue will be the uninterrupted "Buy One, Add One for $1" deal. For every full-priced item purchased, customers can add another menu item for just $1. This initiative, along with in-app deals, national and local promotions consolidated into a single digital platform, positions McDonald’s to draw even more customers in 2025.
