Football season is nearly upon us, and to welcome it, Krispy Kreme has once again whipped up some sweet limited-time doughnuts, this time collaborating with Dr Pepper. The iconic doughnut company announced the new tie-up with Dr Pepper on Thursday and the novel doughnut range released to commemorate the launch of the football season.

Starting from Friday, August 23, dessert enthusiasts can head down to any Krispy Kreme store nearby to grab a doughnut from the Krispy Kreme x Dr Pepper Kickoff Collection, featuring that distinct Dr Pepper taste in addition to bringing back a beloved Krispy Kreme seasonal flavor.

Krispy Kreme explained that the Dr Pepper Kickoff Doughnut, a prime highlight of this collection, is essentially an Original Glazed Doughnut but with a generous helping of Dr Pepper flavored frosting. To top it off, it has a Burgundy Sprinkle Blend and a white chocolate logo of Dr Pepper stamped on it.

Moreover, the collection also includes the Buttercreme Goals Doughnut, another variety of the Original Glazed doughnut, this one decorated with green icing, bright sprinkles and a yellow goal post made from buttercreme flavor. Also on offer is the Kreme Filled Football Doughnut, a sweet treat unglazed and filled with white Kreme, masked with chocolate icing and designed to resemble a football.

“Two of America’s most loved flavors are about to become one amazing gameday sensation to make this the sweetest kickoff to football season ever. This Dr Pepper collection is a must-add to your gameday lineup, whoever you’re cheering for," commented Dave Skena, the global chief brand officer at Krispy Kreme, as part of a statement given to Food & Wine.

The doughnuts are available for purchase either in-store or for pick-up at select shops. Moreover, fans can make use of the Krispy Kreme’s app and website for home deliveries.

Adding some extra sweetness to the release of the new range, Krispy Kreme declared that from August 23 to 25, all orders placed on their app or through their website will be eligible for free delivery. The perfect excuse to order those extra dozen doughnuts you wanted!
