This Wednesday, McDonald's broke the news about a delightful menu addition – Dulce de Leche Frappé. The announcement got an extra boost from popular Mexican actor Iñaki Godoy, best known from Netflix's "One Piece," who is also partnering with the fast-food giant to help share this exciting news.

McDonald's bestowed a festive flavor to its release stating, "Dulce de leche goes by many names." The multinational corporation continued, "Be it cajeta, manjar, manjar blanco, arequipe, milk candy, fanguito, doce de leite, leche quemada, or any other name, this sweet staple is a unifying flavor for Latinos, evoking memories of home, no matter where you’re from."

This new addition is a tribute to the diverse palette of Latino culture and brings a slice of home to many. The company is “inviting our fans to enjoy the flavor that speaks their language in a uniquely sweet way. At McDonald’s, regardless of the different names it may go by, it’s a Dulce de Leche Frappé."

However, the festive delight is not here to stay. Just like many remarkable things in life, this frappé too may soon be off the menu. So, if you happen to spot it on your near McDonald’s menu, don’t shy away from ordering one…or perhaps two.

To ramp up the excitement, McDonald's is also introducing few Dulce de Leche carritos; exclusive dessert carts, at chosen McDonald’s outlets in Southern California and Miami from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. local time on December 6, 7, 13, and 14. Customers visiting these locations will have a chance to savor free samples, acquire exclusive merchandise, win Arch Cards, and more, while stocks last.

To remind you of the dates and locations, Southern California will see the dessert carts first on December 6 at 48350 Seminole Dr., Cabazon, CA 92230 and then on the 7th at 7861 Beach Blvd. Buena Park, CA 90620. On December 13 and 14, Miami will host the carts at 1400 SW 8th St, Miami, FL 33135 and at 1650 Washington Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139, respectively.

Of note, this Dulce de Leche Frappé isn't the only thing McDonald's is working on. Also read is the news of the unveiling of the new McValue platform in late November. Food & Wine reported that this platform intends to display every special offer available to patrons, assisting those unable to afford higher prices to take advantage of the brand's deals.

President of McDonald's USA, Joe Erlinger, commented, “When it comes to value, we know there’s no one-size-fits-all.” He further added, “We worked closely with our franchisees to create a new platform that will let our customers define value on their own terms.” However, this platform isn't set to roll out until January. So, while waiting for this launch, perhaps savoring a frappé is a sweet way to pass the time.
