As followers of food and wine, we know summer cooking is all about vibrant, fresh flavors, crowd-pleasing bites and drinks, and lots of grilling. If you're looking for new dishes to try as you fire up your grill this season, you're in for a treat. A new lineup of delicious cookbooks is set to hit your reading (and cooking!) list.

Imagine biting into an In-N-Out-Inspired smash burger from the new book American Grill by Tyler Florence. If you're feeling adventurous, try the pickle aguachile from Grillo’s Pickles, or indulge in the delicious amaro root beer float from Renato Polafilo’s Dolci. From berbere-braised pork tacos in AfriCali, to saag paneer lasagna in Amrikan, to caramel fish sauce chicken wings in Đặc Biệt, these cookbooks bring global flavors right to your grill.

Afri-Cali is particularly impressive with its diverse mix of dishes. Inspired by author Kiano Moju's Kenyan and Nigerian roots along with her time in London, the cookbook offers a Nigerian-style kale stew thickened with egusi (ground melon seeds), Ethiopian-spiced braised pork tacos, a French pommes Anna tweaked with cheese and chili peppers, and a South African-inspired sticky toffee pudding. The spatchcocked roast chicken with poisson sauce is a standout dish, combining butter, garlic, ginger, chile powder, and lemon.

Tyler Florence’s American Grill, meanwhile, advocates for grilling anything and everything-from spinach artichoke dip to pineapple pizza to tres leches cake. Florence's grilling wisdom permeates through the book, advising ways to maximize your grill's potential, be it charcoal or gas. Meat lovers will appreciate the Grilled Tomahawk Rib-Eye and the homemade "double-double” rivaling In-N-Out’s version.

Khushbu Shah’s cookbook, Amrikan, is a celebration of Indian and American culinary fusion, capturing the excitement of a blended Indian American pantry. You'll find recipes ranging from saag paneer lasagna to a juicy mango pie, embodying the "unique culinary innovations of this diaspora," in Shah’s words.

Then there's the New York City bar veteran Jim Meehan’s cookbook, featuring a variety of non-alcoholic and alcoholic cocktails. Infused with contributions from professionals like Don Lee, Lynette Marrero, and Masahiro “Masa” Urushido, the book is a great guide for creating flavorsome drinks at home.

Adding a splash of fun to your cooking, Nini Nguyen's debut cookbook merges Vietnamese and New Orleans cuisines in an enjoyable, flavorful way. If that’s not enough, Camille Becerra’s cookbook introduces over 20 years of restaurant experience to your kitchen, offering playful veggie sandwiches and curiously combined dishes like Lavender-Salt Cured Salmon and Avocado Toast.

If pickles are your thing, Grillo’s cookbook will surprise you with over 100 ways to relish them. And for those inspired by Middle Eastern cuisine, Edy Massih's vibrant cookbook offers a fresh take on Lebanese classics.

So, as you get your grill ready for the summer, don't miss out on exploring these cookbooks. With so many exciting and delicious recipes waiting for you, there's no telling what culinary magic you could create this summer.
