Reese’s has stirred the sweet-toothed world by unveiling its new Jumbo Cup. This is the latest bulky addition to the brand’s already impressive catalogue of chocolate-peanut butter treats. It's so big it equals the capacity of a pack of four king-sized regular peanut butter cups. The question remains, what could possibly be next? The Gargantuan Cup?

Let’s review the Reese’s timeline to highlight the significance of this Jumbo Cup. A standard Reese’s cup weighs 0.75 ounces. The brand launched the Big Cup in the early 2000s, boasting a popular weight of 1.4 ounces each. Special event variations, such as Easter Eggs, Halloween Pumpkins, and most recently, the Olympics-themed Reese’s Medals, are intermediate in size at 1.2 ounces. The elusive Reese’s Thin, while not officially weighed, has been approximated to 0.41 ounces based on serving size recommendations.

Enter the Jumbo Cup – a mighty contender weighing 2.8 ounces. That’s equivalent to two Big Cups or four classic cups. Melissa Blette, senior brand manager, expressed her excitement over the release, citing fans’ fondness for the brand and envisioning their love for the more significant amounts of chocolate and peanut butter encapsulated in the colossal Jumbo Cup.

Reese’s seems to mirror strategies employed by Oreo. The classic cookie earned additional fame with its “Double Stuf” version featuring double the cream. It went even bigger with Mega Stuf, briefly reining in with the introduction of slimmer Oreo Thins before going all out with The Most Stuf, packing a staggering amount of cream. Indeed, in the snack business, size matters.

It's noteworthy to mention that this Jumbo Cup isn’t Reese's largest product. In Thanksgiving 2021, the brand introduced an enormous pie-sized peanut butter cup – 9 inches across, weighing 3.4 pounds. However, that was a marketing gimmick restricted to 3,000 units sold via the Hershey website. In contrast, the Jumbo Cup will be limited but widely available in stores across the country.

Reese’s larger-than-life approach to their indulgent treats shows no signs of slowing down. Perhaps, their offerings will grow so big soon; we’d need a posse to polish off a peanut butter cup, reminiscent of those oversized cookies at Crumbl.
