The College Football Playoffs have introduced a bigger, better format in this season, with the number of competing teams jumping from four to twelve. This not only means more thrilling football games but also creates a feast of opportunities for fans to enjoy their favorite football snacks while they cheer on their teams.

The twelve competing teams are carefully ranked, with the top four stakes enjoying a bye in the first round, while the rest of the bunch face-off. This kick-off weekend, including one game on Friday, December 20 and three on Saturday, December 21, will take place at the home venues of the higher-ranking teams - Ohio State, Penn State, Texas, and Notre Dame. This gives these teams' fans an extra chance to visit their home fields.

Longtime fans and ardent football followers will be in for a treat sail through the tasty delights available during the first round of College Football playoffs. With over 100,100 fans planning to invade Austin's stadium, there is much anticipation. Particularly to delight in local favorites in the football field, operated by Sodexo Live!, including the brisket BBQ nachos and the fresh Fletchers Corny Dogs. For fans who fancy a stiff drink, the Burnt Orange Paloma Draft Cocktail was a big hit.

They may not unroll any new snacks for playoff matches, as they plan to focus on authentic Texas specials that reflect the state's legendary culinary heritage, explains the Sodexo Live! team. Beyond its famous barbecues, Austin also offers a rich menu comprising diverse cuisines, including top-grade Tex-Mex and brunch.

The playoff will see over 106,500 fans descending on Beaver Stadium in central Pennsylvania. New this season, Oak View Group's OVG Hospitality will bring their novelty foods to the occasion. Fans can look forward to the chicken tenders and fries basket, a fresh Bavarian pretzel with cheese, Caliente pizza from Pittsburgh, and the much-loved Crab Fries from Chickie's & Pete’s. Special local options such as the Happy Valley Wineries and Seven Mount Wineries will also grace the event.

Meanwhile, at the 80,700-seater Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Indiana, crowds are welcome to relish the Touchdown Burger, an Angus beef burger coming with bacon, onion jam, cheddar cheese, and Comeback Sauce. But if you're hankering for a sweet treat, the stadium's home-brand bread pudding has been causing quite a stir since its introduction in 2023. Special green and gold shamrock-shaped edition will be available for fans to honor the soccer playoffs, and there will be only 50 of these at each of the two stands in sections 10 and 25.

Alongside the tradition of spelling out "O-H-I-O", football fans have also cherished the Taste of the Competition at The Horseshoe, as Levy, the official food service provider for the venue, has created special playoff dishes. Football lovers should check out the celebratory Buckeye CFP Smashburger and the Buckeye Block O pretzel. To hit the sweet spot, the Buckeye candy added to the famous Block O pretzel will surely delight.
